Selfishness - Virtue or vice?

Selfish people are happy people! They never have any problems, no conflicts whatsoever...because in their world they are the only ones so where the chance of conflict arises when you notice no one around you but yourself!

I never had issues with selfish people. Actually, my top beloved list is almost full of selfish folks, almost all the people I met in my life turned out to be selfish, almost all the people I loved were selfish... When I say this, I am not being judgmental. When I was a kid, somebody called me selfish too, well not actually selfish, but she said I am self-centered. when I asked her how she came to that conclusion, she said all Leos are selfish..Period! Though I found her reply quite unjustified and totally biased, I did not argue. At that age, I did not know how to argue. But that statement haunted me, haunted for years together! Before I did anything, though unintentionally but yet sub-consciously I ensured that I am not doing something thinking only about my happiness. But did that give me happiness? I am not really sure...

So I conclude selfish folks are happy folks. Atleast they know how to keep themselves happy, they know how to meet their needs, they know how to make sure their dreams are fulfilled...that's what really matters..Isn't it or Is it?

Now, Selfishness is a virtue or a vice???

Selfishness is a need but it has a limit.. its virtue when its below that limit, vice when its over that limit ...

selfishness is rather an art. i have high regards for the folks who are selfish. atleast they have clear goals, not like many of us who doesn't know what we want in life.

1) you start you article with an assumption that selfish people are happy.
2) self-centered and selfish are worlds apart if you closely observe.
3)doing something that makes us happy and only makes "US" happy is not called being selfish. As long as you do not add " regardless of others"
